About

1988, lives and works São Paulo, SP, Brazil

abigail Campos Leal (Campo dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro, 1988), winding mountain range, moves between Art and Philosophy as a way to create poetics that focus cruelly on the destruction of the Colonial World, as well as to imagine and create radically other ways to inhabit the Earth. She is a professor of the specialization course in “Humanities and Decolonial Thought” at PUC-SP. She is one of the organizers of Slam Marginália. She published “escuiresendo: ontografias poéticas” by O Sexo da Palavra, in 2020, and “ex/orbitâncias: os caminhos da deserção de gênero”, in 2021, by Glac Edições. In recent years she has attempted to exceed the field of language through other poetics: In October of 2021 she presented the sonic (virtual) performance “sonar” as part of the programming of the Festival “Gorda sim, e daí? “Festival, through the State Library José Anchieta. In 2022, she presented the performance “Parábola do Despejo” at Pivô as part of the launch of the magazine Pivô#2; the performance “Grafias de Odu,”, in collaboration with Azizi Cypriano and Paola Ribeiro, at the opening of the exhibition “Vivemos para isso,” at Ateliê 397; “tento desenhar secretamente o mapa do nosso lugar”, at the opening of the Imagination Festival at Museu da Imagem e do Som do Ceará. This year is still part of an exhibition that will debut in November, with five photo-parments.

The artist participated in Pivô Pesquisa 2023.
